Question 1

What is Sorsera?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera is a tender success platform built for the AI age. It brings together real-time tender monitoring, procurement analytics, competitor intelligence, and team collaboration tools in one workspace. The goal is simple: help suppliers find, analyse, and win EU public procurement opportunities faster and with greater confidence.

Question 2

Who is Sorsera designed for?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera is built for any organisation that sells to the public sector in the EU. Whether you're an SME bidding on your first contract or a large supplier managing hundreds of opportunities across multiple countries, the platform adapts to your needs. Common users include business development teams, bid managers, procurement consultants, and C-level executives who need market intelligence for strategic planning.

Question 3

Which countries and procurement sources does Sorsera cover?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera aggregates tender data from across the European Union, with especially deep coverage in the Baltics (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia), Scandinavia (Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway), and Poland. It also pulls in EU-wide TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) data. The platform keeps expanding its source coverage so you can find cross-border opportunities in one place instead of checking dozens of national portals.

Question 4

Does Sorsera support tenders in languages other than English?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sorsera uses AI-powered translation so your keyword searches work across languages. You can search in English and still surface relevant tenders published in Latvian, Swedish, Polish, Finnish, or other EU languages. This removes one of the biggest barriers to cross-border tendering.

Question 5

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sorsera offers a free 14-day trial with no credit card required. You can also book a personalised demo with the team to see how the platform fits your specific needs before committing to a plan.

Question 6

Is there a free version of Sorsera?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sorsera has a permanent Free plan that includes limited procurement data, tender monitoring, email alerts, limited market analysis, and limited opportunity tools. You can use it indefinitely and upgrade when your needs grow.

Question 7

How quickly can we get started with Sorsera?

Accepted Answer

You can sign up for a free account and start monitoring tenders within minutes. The platform analyses your company profile and suggests relevant opportunities right away, so there's no lengthy onboarding or setup process. For teams that want a guided introduction, Sorsera offers personalised demos and onboarding support.

Question 8

What are Sorsera AI credits?

Accepted Answer

Credits are used only when Sorsera does AI work for you: pre-analysing a tender in your inbox, extracting requirements, checking compliance, analysing responses to your tender or working with the agent. Searching, monitoring and reading documents are free. Credits reset each month, and your usage page shows where they went.

Question 9

What happens when the credits run out?

Accepted Answer

Everything that does not use AI keeps working: search, monitoring, the inbox, the bid workspace and tender creation. You can upgrade at any time and the larger credit allowance applies immediately, or talk to us about a custom one.

Question 10

How does the trial work?

Accepted Answer

Every paid plan starts with 14 days of Team, with no card on file. When the trial ends you choose a plan or drop to Free. Nothing you created is lost.

Question 11

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Accepted Answer

Upgrade at any time and pay the difference. Downgrade or cancel at the end of the current billing period. Monthly plans have no minimum term.

Question 12

How does Sorsera find relevant tenders for my company?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera analyses your company profile, including your industry, CPV codes (Common Procurement Vocabulary), keywords, and historical tender participation, to automatically suggest relevant opportunities. Instead of relying on a single filter, the platform combines structured classification data with full-text search across tender documents. That means you see opportunities that keyword-only tools would miss.

Question 13

What is tender intelligence and why does it matter?

Accepted Answer

Tender intelligence is the use of historical procurement data (contract awards, pricing trends, buyer behaviour, and competitor activity) to make smarter bidding decisions. Sorsera's Tender Intelligence module lets you analyse which buyers are active in your sector, who your competitors are winning contracts from, how prices have moved over time, and where new market opportunities are emerging. In short, it turns raw data into a strategic advantage.

Question 14

Can I track my competitors' bidding activity?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sorsera's competitor tracking feature lets you see which companies are bidding on similar projects, analyse their historical pricing trends, and understand their market positioning. You can monitor specific competitors by name or explore an entire sector to discover who the key players are.

Question 15

Does Sorsera offer buyer behaviour analysis?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The platform provides buyer behaviour insights, including how frequently specific contracting authorities issue tenders, their typical budgets, which suppliers they tend to award to, and evaluation criteria patterns. This helps you prioritise buyers where you have the highest probability of success.

Question 16

How does Sorsera help with collaboration and bid preparation?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera includes a built-in bid workspace where your team can collaborate on tender responses side-by-side. You can manage tasks, share documents, communicate with external stakeholders such as subcontractors or consortium partners, and track progress. Everything lives in the same platform where you discovered and analysed the opportunity, so there's no more switching between email, spreadsheets, and file-sharing tools.

Question 17

What is RFP management software and does Sorsera support it?

Accepted Answer

RFP (Request for Proposal) management software helps organisations track, respond to, and manage incoming RFPs and RFQs (Requests for Quotation) from start to finish. It typically includes document collaboration, response templates, deadline tracking, and submission workflows. Sorsera supports the RFP lifecycle on the supplier side: you can discover RFPs through tender monitoring, analyse the issuing authority's history and past awards, collaborate with your team on the response within Sorsera's bid workspace, and track tasks and deadlines. For organisations that handle a high volume of RFPs, this means fewer missed deadlines and better-informed proposals.

Question 18

How do Sorsera's tender alerts and notifications work?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera lets you set up custom monitor profiles based on your industry, CPV codes, keywords, regions, and budget ranges. When a new tender matches your criteria, the platform sends you an alert via email or directly in your Sorsera dashboard. Alerts are triggered in near real-time as new tenders are published or existing ones are updated (like deadline extensions or amendments). You can create multiple monitor profiles for different markets or product lines, so each team member sees only what's relevant to them without inbox overload.

Question 19

How does Sorsera's AI matching work?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera's AI analyses multiple signals to match tenders to your company: your stated industry and CPV codes, the keywords and exclusions you configure, your historical tender participation, and the full text of tender documents (not just titles and summaries). The system uses natural language processing to understand intent and context. So if a tender describes "office cleaning services" but is classified under a broad facilities management CPV code, the AI still surfaces it for a cleaning company. Over time, the matching improves as the platform learns from which opportunities you engage with and which you dismiss.

Question 20

What is tender monitoring software?

Accepted Answer

Tender monitoring software automates the tracking of published tenders, contract awards, and procurement announcements across government portals and procurement databases. Instead of manually checking dozens of websites, suppliers receive filtered, relevant opportunities delivered to them in real time. This saves hours of research each week.

Question 21

What are CPV codes and how does Sorsera use them?

Accepted Answer

CPV (Common Procurement Vocabulary) codes are standardised codes used across the EU to classify public procurement tenders by product or service type. There are 9,454 codes organised into 45 main categories, and every EU tender carries at least one. Sorsera uses CPV codes alongside keyword search and AI-based matching to make sure you surface the most relevant opportunities, even when tenders are classified under unexpected codes.

Question 22

How do I find public tenders in the EU?

Accepted Answer

Public tenders above certain value thresholds are legally required to be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union via the TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) portal. Below those thresholds, tenders appear on national and regional procurement portals. The challenge is that these sources are fragmented, published in different languages, and use varying classification systems. A tender monitoring platform like Sorsera aggregates all of these sources into a single searchable feed, applies AI-based matching, and delivers relevant opportunities directly to you.

Question 23

What is the public procurement process in Europe?

Accepted Answer

The EU public procurement process follows a structured lifecycle: a contracting authority identifies a need, publishes a tender notice (often on TED), suppliers submit bids during the tender period, bids are evaluated against published criteria, and the contract is awarded. The process is governed by EU procurement directives that ensure transparency, non-discrimination, and equal treatment. Common procedures include open tenders, restricted procedures, competitive dialogue, and negotiated procedures.

Question 24

What is e-tendering and why is it important?

Accepted Answer

E-tendering refers to the end-to-end digital management of the tendering process, from publication and discovery through to bid submission and evaluation. It replaces paper-based and fragmented manual processes with a centralised digital workflow. In the EU, e-tendering is increasingly mandated by regulation, and it improves transparency, reduces administrative costs, and speeds up the procurement cycle for both buyers and suppliers.

Question 25

What is the difference between tender monitoring and a full procurement system?

Accepted Answer

A tender monitoring solution is a tool for suppliers to find current and relevant tenders. It scans procurement portals, filters results, and delivers alerts. A full procurement system (often called an e-procurement platform) is where the procurer creates, publishes, and manages tenders and where suppliers submit their bids. These are complementary tools. Sorsera sits on the supplier side, combining monitoring with intelligence and collaboration. It's not a submission portal but rather the strategic layer that helps you decide what to bid on and how to win.

Question 26

What are government tenders and how do I find them?

Accepted Answer

Government tenders (also called public tenders or public contracts) are formal requests issued by government bodies and public institutions inviting suppliers to bid on delivering goods, services, or works. In the EU alone, public procurement accounts for roughly 14% of GDP, over €2 trillion annually. Finding them can be challenging because opportunities are spread across TED (the EU-wide portal), national government procurement platforms, and regional or municipal portals. Sorsera solves this by aggregating government tenders from all these sources into one searchable platform, so you can discover relevant contracts without visiting dozens of separate websites.

Question 27

What is procurement monitoring and how is it different from tender monitoring?

Accepted Answer

Procurement monitoring is the broader practice of tracking the entire public procurement landscape, including published tenders, contract awards, framework agreements, spending data, and policy changes. Tender monitoring is a subset that focuses specifically on finding and tracking active tender opportunities. Sorsera covers both: its tender monitoring features surface live opportunities, while its intelligence module provides the wider procurement monitoring view, letting you analyse awarded contracts, track spending trends, and understand how entire markets are evolving over time.

Question 28

How does Sorsera compare to Mercell?

Accepted Answer

Mercell is a well-established European procurement platform that serves both buyers and suppliers across the full procurement lifecycle. Sorsera differentiates itself by focusing specifically on the supplier side with deeper AI-driven tender intelligence, competitor tracking, and market analytics. While Mercell's strength is its broad procurement ecosystem, Sorsera provides a more focused toolkit for suppliers who want to find, analyse, and win tenders, with built-in collaboration features and a faster time-to-value at a lower entry price.

Question 29

How does Sorsera compare to Tendium?

Accepted Answer

Tendium (based in Stockholm) is a strong competitor focused on AI-driven tender monitoring and bid writing for the Nordics and EU. Both platforms use AI to match and summarise tenders. The key differences: Sorsera offers deeper procurement analytics (buyer behaviour, pricing trends, competitor mapping) and built-in team collaboration tools, while Tendium places more emphasis on AI-assisted bid writing. Sorsera also offers a permanent Free tier, whereas Tendium operates on paid plans only.

Question 30

What is the best tender monitoring software in Europe?

Accepted Answer

The best tool depends on your priorities. For suppliers focused on EU public procurement who need both monitoring and market intelligence, Sorsera is a strong choice thanks to its combination of AI-powered tender matching, procurement analytics, and collaboration tools. Other notable platforms include Mercell (broad procurement lifecycle), Tendium (AI bid writing), Altura (full-cycle bid management), and Stotles (UK public sector intelligence). We recommend trialling the tools that match your region and use case. Sorsera's free plan makes it easy to evaluate without commitment.

Question 31

Is Sorsera better than using TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) directly?

Accepted Answer

TED is the official EU procurement database and an excellent free resource. However, TED is designed primarily for publication and basic search. It doesn't provide AI-based matching, competitor intelligence, pricing analytics, collaboration tools, or custom alerts tailored to your business profile. Sorsera ingests TED data alongside national procurement portals and layers analytics and AI on top, giving you a much more actionable view of the market.

Question 32

Can I use ChatGPT or general AI tools instead of Sorsera for tendering?

Accepted Answer

General-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT can help draft bid responses, brainstorm ideas, or summarise documents. However, they don't have access to live tender databases, can't monitor procurement portals in real time, and lack the structured procurement data needed for competitor analysis or buyer behaviour insights. Sorsera is purpose-built for the procurement domain. It combines live data feeds, structured analytics, and AI into a single platform designed specifically for winning tenders. Many teams use both: Sorsera for discovery, intelligence, and collaboration, and general AI assistants for ad-hoc writing tasks.

Question 33

Can I manage tenders using spreadsheets or email instead of dedicated software?

Accepted Answer

Many teams start this way, tracking opportunities in Excel, sharing documents over email, and storing bid content in shared drives. It works at small scale, but breaks down quickly. Spreadsheets can't pull live tender data, email threads bury critical information, version control becomes a nightmare, and there's no systematic way to analyse competitors or buyer behaviour. Dedicated platforms like Sorsera automate the parts that spreadsheets can't handle (live monitoring, AI matching, market analytics) while also providing the collaboration features that email lacks. Most teams that switch report that the time saved on manual tracking alone justifies the investment within the first month.

Question 34

How does Sorsera compare to Stotles?

Accepted Answer

Stotles is a UK-focused public sector intelligence platform that helps suppliers understand buyer needs, track procurement pipelines, and identify pre-tender opportunities through freedom-of-information data and other public signals. Its primary strength is deep UK market coverage. Sorsera, by contrast, is built for the EU market, covering TED, Baltic, Nordic, Polish, and other European procurement sources. If your business primarily targets UK public sector, Stotles is worth evaluating. If you sell across EU markets (or both UK and EU), Sorsera's broader European coverage and multilingual AI search may be a better fit. Some teams use both to cover the full European and UK landscape.

Question 35

Is my data secure on Sorsera?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera takes data security seriously. The platform is built in the EU and hosts data within the European Economic Area in compliance with GDPR. Access is controlled through role-based permissions, and the platform maintains audit trails for accountability. Your bid content and competitive intelligence remain private to your organisation.

Question 36

Does Sorsera integrate with other tools we already use?

Accepted Answer

Sorsera is designed as a self-contained workspace for tendering, but the team is continuously expanding integration capabilities. For the latest information on integrations with CRM systems, ERP software, or other business tools, contact the Sorsera team or check the platform's settings.

Question 37

How can I improve my tender win rate?

Accepted Answer

Focus on three areas: targeting, intelligence, and quality. First, use data to select opportunities where you have the strongest fit. Poorly targeted bids waste resources and drag down your win rate. Second, leverage procurement intelligence (buyer history, competitor pricing, evaluation criteria patterns) to shape your bid strategy before you write a single word. Third, invest in a structured bid process with reusable content libraries, clear internal roles, and quality reviews. Tools like Sorsera can help with the first two by surfacing the right opportunities and providing the market data you need to bid smarter.

Question 38

Will AI replace bid managers and procurement professionals?

Accepted Answer

No. AI is a force multiplier, not a replacement. It automates repetitive tasks like tender discovery, document summarisation, and data analysis, freeing procurement professionals to focus on strategy, relationship building, and quality bid writing. The teams that adopt AI tools like Sorsera gain a competitive edge by spending less time on administration and more time on winning work.

Question 39

How do I evaluate and choose a tender management tool?

Accepted Answer

Consider five factors. (1) Coverage: does it include the countries and procurement sources relevant to your business? (2) Intelligence: does it go beyond alerts to offer analytics on competitors, buyers, and pricing? (3) Collaboration: can your team work together on bids within the platform? (4) Ease of use: can you get started quickly without complex onboarding? (5) Cost: does the pricing scale with your team size and needs? Sorsera scores well across all five, and the free plan lets you evaluate the platform before committing.

Question 40

How much time can tender monitoring software save my team?

Accepted Answer

Most suppliers report that manual tender monitoring (checking portals, filtering irrelevant results, translating foreign tenders, and compiling shortlists) takes 5 to 15 hours per week. An automated platform like Sorsera reduces this to minutes per day by delivering pre-filtered, AI-matched opportunities directly to your dashboard. The time savings compound further when you factor in the intelligence features: instead of researching competitors and buyers manually, the data is already at your fingertips.
